KARDEŞ TÜRKÜLER ( SET 1- MULTİMEDİA)

Think about a music  that does not been dirtied by ''contemporary'' computer sounds. Think about a group of people who care miseries, happiness in all languages and sing songs in them. They meet in Kardeş Türküler and started to say their saying in their rhytms. They do not use computer music, they play guitars,instruments, drums,tambourines, pipes and some  other enstruments that belong to folk culture. They reflect our people's lives in all aspects. You can hear a prisoner's cryings in a dynamic rhytm  like the video below. Or a happy man's cheerful sayings in a liric rhytm. I like their songs so much because they are meaningful and so ''not rubbish''. Anyone listening their songs most likely experience the sense of something old.  You will be amazed while listening them. I advise you to leave yourself songs' rhytm and soul.

I am a  volunteer member of AGT ( Ankara Volunteers Team) and I  want to share  one ofmy experiences with you  thinking that maybe  it makes you smile . We  are going poor families’ houses for  help their childrens’ school studies , homeworks. We call our students ‘’ sister’’ or  ‘’brother’’. I have three sisters and two brothers. They  are so clever and hardworking. Though they came from a village school this  year, they know  topics very well and they are succesful. However, they make some  naughtiness sometimes. I want to share with you an event that  all of us  burst out laught. My sisters had to memorize the multiplication table. We told them to do it  but after 2 weeks, they had not memorized  yet. We started to become angry with them and they knew it. The last time we went there, I saw that when I ask a question from  multiplication table,  one of my sisters ( Dilan) would upgaze and then answered me. I didn’t recognize that there was something. I just thougt that she were thinking. But later, I saw the paper  attached to the curtain. İt was  multiplication table and the whole family  started to laught.  She proofed  her  intelligence again . My partner  hold her and I took their photograph. It was a nice moment and we made it immortal.

             The film titled with 'Bir Kadın Bir Erkek' has been showed for 5 years. It is a kind of the comedy tv serials that mentions the relationship of a pair.  Woman's name is Zeynep , man's is Ozan. They have been going out for 8 years, They live together but aren't married yet. Zeynep tries  to persuade Ozan  to  marry with her ,nonetheless he doesn't plan anything like marriage. They fall in love with each other so much but  love always  brings quarrels with it and the rule hasn't been chanced by them. They act out  such a real way that one nearly doesn't feel that they are imaginary people.

     The woman ( Zeynep ) is living her mid-30s so she feels that she is late for marrying and tries to marry as soon as possible. She is crazy, childlike, obsessive, nervous at some times and very stubborn. The woman that acting out Zeynep is Demet EVGAR. She is one of the most talented actrists of Turkey. She can act so naturally and any kind of roling given her for acting out can  be acted by her just as she is a real, living person. It's hard not to admire her.


      The man ( Ozan ) is  also about 30s,  but contrary to Zeynep, he doesn't think about marriying. He feels cool, he doesn't have any rush for life, pure and sometimes even fool. The character'' Ozan'' is acted out by Emre KARAYEL. He is also very talented actor. When he and Demet EVGAR comes together, the souls of love and being a lovely pair besiege the whole environment.

  This video about human rights. I like it so much because it tells us what we live right now in our country. This also talks about universal facts. World is not a place where vibrants just breathe, or non- livings are just stay. We -as human being- are thinking and its consequences are rules, life standarts, working and everything we live. We experience world together,  breathe together, everything that we can think are done  together. This leads someone who have more power than others.Human rights are set down due to take care of weaks. Because power can get everything, even other people's life. As video mentioned '' Everyone is equal, but someone are more equal than others in this world''. Human rights are for that '' equal'' ones. I think this is a must because human being destroyed everything from other vibrants to world and if  doesn't be stopped, he may even destroy himself. It's  nice to see him trying to set barriers himself before the time when there is nothing left.

             When I was 9 years old,  my mother said to me that ı would have  a brother. It suprised me because I was the smallest but a newcommer  would change it. Anyway, he came and I loved him so much. Years passed by. We loved him so much, he was our house's happiness. But there was something wrong. He was 4 years old and he couldn't speak. Once, we tougth that he could be deaf, but he would react to the sounds. Then we take him to pyscologist. He said that my brother was autistic. Then our life  changed. The whole family was in a deadlock situation. One of the hardest lifes. We  changed everything from what we eat to where we go. Doctor said that he shouldnt eat sweety meals, we  nearly  stopped to buy sweety things. He said clips harmed my brother, we deleted clip channels. When we went somewhere, one of us had to take care of him, go with him wherever he goes. Days went by like this. Tiring, he-centered. He has no friend, he couldn't contact with anybody, no eye contact, no speak. Even he was happy, he couldn't show, when he wanted something, he couln't say. He was in his own world and we had to take him from there and bring him to our world. I was small, my task was be his friend, my mother  was his everyting, my father's and my other sister's task was help us as possible as they can. And we gained the play. I said same things tens of time, we also  played same games. My mother went to seminars, groups about autism and my brother went to rehabilitation centers. He slowly came to our wold. He speaks now, even learned write his name. He smiles now when he happy and can say what he needs. He has friends now, but I will always be his best friend and he will be mine too.
             
     I chosed this topic. Because when someone say me to write something which I can consider the topic, first thing that comes to my mind is autism and my brother. I hope you will enjoy it.

 When we say '' university'' we also say freedom, real education, being among wise people, saying what you think freely, accomplishing yourself. I think university should be like this. Because expectation of old generation is young people who cares about life, who educated, and say something about  events. Because a few people speak, others just obey. Educated people must be who speak.                                                    

    University should have opportunities, groups, social activities like theathre, concers, meeting... Anything that accomplish people should be accessible for all students.
         
     Metu  meets up with my expectations. There is so many opptunities for students. I can freely walking around, nobody disturbs me. Education is good, I can accompolish myself there I think. Metu is goog, it satisfies me.

                        When  I saw the slogan '' I brain ODTÜ'' I thougth it is not the perfect one because it's not sympathic for me. İt is saying like '' dont come here''. I think it can be more funny or more challenging. For me of course because I dont like formal things so much social things is more challenging for me. I think education should teach how to like learn something. Brain is so formal, from our childhood they said us '' sit and study science''  brain remembers me this. It can be more pleasurable I think. This is my opinion others may like it. There can be people who likes official thinks. Or maths. I dont like the things related to math. And brain remembers them.

It can be something more social. Because we know that universities are the hearth of  a country. It can say this to people who see metus slogan. For example ''We believe that we can change the whole world with the help of this soul, starting from our immediate environment. '' is good  if I could I would choose this one . Changing the all aspect of world. Not only science but also people. ''I brain odtü'' doesnt say social things to me, it looks like nothing but science but it shuold have reflect the society a bit more.

              When I was in high school my teacher asked us to make  the  a list of universities that we dream about. First uiversity of my list was METU. I wrote it saying ''just a dream''. But it is real now. I am a metu student.  I am happy about it because metu means freedom for me. One of the best selection for my education, for my future.
           Challenges doesn't disturb me because I was staying in a dormitory when I was a student of high school. It's okey with me eating tasteless meals, staying a room with 4 people and so on. Class are not so hard for me English doesnt tire me . The only problem is my mother and my little brother. I always miss them so much. My brother is 10 years old and  he is my best friend. He needs me just as I need him. My mother also miss me I know and these are the challenges for me. Living without them is like eating cake that has no sugar. Anyway, I think metu is the rigth place for me and I can try to be happy there.
